How a throw pillow reassures me…

I love Stein Mart.  Their sales are uh-mazing.  They send those emails at just the right time and next thing I know, I’m checking things off my to-do list AND staying within my budget.  I also love Ganesha, a Hindu deity known and praised for removing obstacles.  True story.  A few months ago, all I was seeing was elephants.  Well, not actual ones, unless I went to the zoo.  More like images and references.  I’d hop on Facebook and someone was excited about elephant leggings (what are the odds!).  I missed my bus one time, and while walking to my destination, I passed an art gallery that had a HUGE elephant painting in the window.

I got it.  Ganesha was seeking me out.  I went back to Stein Mart weeks later for something else and stumbled upon an elephant key chain.  “Ganesha!”, I exclaimed, as I grabbed it and ran to the cashier.  I see Him a lot these days…on throw pillows in other people’s homes, blankets, stuffed animals, yoga studios.  He’s EVERYWHERE.  Knowing that gives me solace.  I know I’m not the only one here who would say we’re living in some jaw dropping, weird times.  I mean, good God, have you watched the news or read your Twitter feed lately?

So yeah, me practically getting my Ganesha throw pillow for free (I applied a birthday coupon Stein Mart sent me.  See why I love that store?) is a big deal in my household because that’s what really started the momentum of me seeing Him all the time.  And even in some instances when things are just ape shit crazy, I know in my soul that at the right time, it will no longer be an issue.  Who knows…  Maybe reading this post is the sign you needed from Ganesha that He’s working on removing whatever obstacle is currently in your way.  Namaste Lovelies…
